Under Classic, cloning a drive was as easy as drag and drop. Carbon Copy Cloner brings
that functionality to X
Bombich Software has announced the immediate availability of Carbon Copy Cloner is a
backup/cloning utility for Mac OS X. This version adds many new features such as
synchronization, scheduled tasks, creating disk images on the fly and creating NetBoot
image sets from fully customized installations of Mac OS X. CCC is the most
cost-effective, easy-to-use backup solution available for Mac OS X.
This tool is especially useful for creating and installing a full set of applications
and utilities on new machines. It saves technician time by obviating the need to
install everything by hand. Of course, if you've ever set up dozen or more iMacs,
[etc], you'll recognize the value of this functionality.
This tool is a great back-up utility as well because it can make a virgin copy of a
system that's ready and waiting when you need to reformat a system -- handy.
Carbon Copy Cloner is a "donationware" application and can be downloaded here.
