Looking for a Mac job?
By ron carlson, Insanely Great Mac
December 16th 2002
For a price, get listed in Press 3's exclusive online directory
Press 3, providers of the MacCSE certification program for Mac techs has announced it
is opening up it's exclusive Mac Job Network to all Mac techs and not just those who
earn a MacCSE.
The Mac Job Network is a network of companies that Press 3 works with internationally.
As positions become available companies looking for top picks, contact Press 3 for
leads on candidates. Previously this program was limited to only those who had earned
a MacCSE from Press 3.
However, beginning today, this network is open to all individuals with Mac experience.
To participate in the Press 3 Mac Job Network requires the applicant to have Mac
experience, a current resume and pay a one time membership fee of $14.95 (The fee
offsets the cost of offering the program since Press 3 does not charge companies
searching for candidates or collect fee's for placement).
In addition to the Mac Job Network, Press 3 has launched a new Resume Revision
service. The new service allows anyone hunting for a job to put on their best front
with a great resume. This service is practical for those who are wanting to refine
their current resume or just want to start over fresh. The end product gives you a
resume in different formats to submit to companies and head hunters alike. The resume
service is offered for $49.95.
Also, as previously announced, Press 3's MacCSE certification program is discounted
through the end of December for $49.95, a 50-percent savings over previously offered
discount rates.
A pair of freebies
The more casual or cash-strapped Mac job seeker should also consider the MacDirectory
Jobs and MacTalent Database sites. These long-time job-search pages are free both to
employers and job seekers. Any given day of the week can see two, three or more new
"help wanted" ads posted on either site.
Editor's note: Though I'm always a bit skeptical of fee-based web services (yes, I'm a
.Mac subscriber), it's good to see another service come on line. Given Press 3's
credentials and its (likely) long corporate client list, it's probably safe to assume
those ponying up will have access to a larger pool of potential jobs and locations
from which to choose. And, as we all know, choice is a good thing.
