Logitech announces force feedback compatibility
By ron carlson, Insanely Great Mac

After years of being deprived of plastic widgets that shake and rumble, Mac gamers
enter the 21st century

Logitech has announced that for the first time ever, its force feedback joysticks,
steering wheels and vibration feedback gamepads will be supported by Mac OS X 10.2.3.

"Force feedback means increased realism and involvement during play," said Fred Swan,
director, marketing, interactive entertainment division. "Now that Apple developers
are supporting this technology in their titles, Mac enthusiasts will be able to
experience every bump, jolt, twist and turn that their game provides."

Current Logitech products that will support the Mac include the Logitech MOMO Racing
wheel and WingMan Formula Force GP racing wheel, WingMan RumblePad and WingMan
Cordless RumblePad gamepads and the WingMan Strike Force 3D and WingMan Force 3D
joysticks. Initial games that feature force feedback support are NASCAR Racing 2002
Season from Aspyr Media and F1 Championship Season 2000 from Feral Interactive.

Apple added force feedback support for game controlers in the most recent X update,
v10.2.3. Additional information on games and hardware that offer force feedback
support on the Mac can be found here.
