OWC Releases 52x24x52 Mercury FireWire CDRWs

52x recorders reaching the limits of CDR burning speeds.
Other World Computing has released a new version of their Mercury Pro CD-RW Lite-On
52x24x52 External FireWire models.
The revved burners now use 52-speed mechanisms from Lite-On, which also read at 52x
and rewrrite at 24x. A full CD can be burned in around 2 minutes or less.
The enclosure for the Mercury Pro incorporates both 400Mbps FireWire (Oxford 911) and
USB 2.0 (backwards compatible with USB 1.1), which means the drive can be used with
any FireWire or USB equipped PC.
The Lite-On mechanism also supports overburning up to 99 minutes and features
SmartBurn. The OWC bundle includes 25 blanks CDRs, 1 CDRW, Roxio's Toast 5, and both
FireWire and USB cables.
The burner is in stock and is available at $179.99.

Analysis: 90 and 99-minute CDRs are becoming increasingly common, but I don't see any
Mac software that supports burning beyond 80 minutes. There have got to be some Unix-y
hacks out there that can do this. Anyone have any success with this?
