Keynote: It's an ATI driver problem
By ron carlson, Insanely Great Mac

Apple comes clean on the numerous problems some users have been having with the new app

Apple came clean on Thursday about problems with its just-shipped Keynote presentation
application. The company confirmed that a bug in driver software for ATI graphics
cards is the root of the problems.

"Apple has identified a bug in the driver software for certain ATI graphics chips
which can affect a small number of systems when used with Keynote," the company said
in a statement provided to News.com. "Apple is working on an updated driver which
should be available to customers shortly."

During his introduction of the application at Macworld San Francisco, Jobs joked 'that
a low-paid beta tester was used' to find the bugs in the app -- ie himself.

Editor's note: The sheer number of users that are affected would seem to indicate that
the mothership didn't do its homework vis-a-vis testing. Jobs' MWSF beta-tester joke
appears to have landed in his lap.
