I'm looking to change the behavior when the power button is pressed. Right now it doesn't reliably sleep or power off. If someone is logged on the console, and their account won't log out (for example, if Terminal is stuck), then it won't shut down.
Equally, I've had occasions where the video driver / window server just gets stuck. What I want -- and does anyone know how to do this? -- is: When the power button is pressed, someone is logged on, and I don't press anything on-screen in 60 seconds, then kill the window server. Force the logged in user to log out, give the hardware a chance to reset. If no one is logged on (login window is running), then shut the system down in 60 seconds if I don't press anything. Any ideas? Anyone know how to detect when the power button is pressed? -- Political and economic blog of a strict constitutionalist http://StrictConstitution.BlogSpot.com _______________________________________________ MacOSX-admin mailing list [email protected] http://www.omnigroup.com/mailman/listinfo/macosx-admin
