I am more likely thinking Solaris as that is what they have used in the past (and probably still are using). Oracle has screwed it up but there are Solaris offshoots that allow them to keep their own destiny. Apple has lots of Solaris expertise I would think. I severely doubt they would use any sort of Linux. If any sort of "free" OS I would expect a Solaris offshoot or FreeBSD, with the Solaris ranking up there as my first choice.
