Bzzzt. Guess again. Youre forgetting the current requirements. For a 27" iMac, its 365 watts total. That's 30 amps at 12 volts or 70 amps at 5 volts! You're not gonna have a small and thin wire carrying that. Ditto for your little connector pins. Youre arguing to have a bunch of fat wires going into the iMac compared to the one 120 volt / 3 amp cord? Non sequitur. [Or is the OP just trolling?]
