Has the "tell me a joke" command worked for ANYBODY here since OS 9?
It works great for me up until I get to the part where I have to say "Sarah
who?" or "Tom Sawyer who?" At that point, the machine just refuses to
understand the phrase. What's interesting is that the required phrase does
show up as a value command in the "speech commands" window -- it just never
gets recognized. I don't know if this feature just flat stopped working, or it
doesn't like something about my voice or diction (although I have a very good
recognition ratio for every other valid command).
I used to use this feature regularly to amuse tiny relatives and new Macintosh
owners, but at this point it's good for nothing but flop sweat because the
punch line never comes.
