I had a weird experience today in my old (2006) iMac - a concatenated RAID set just disappeared.
I have one volume that is three drives strung together (Disk Utility set this up) as a concatenated RAID set. When I started up my iMac this afternoon (it was shut down most of the day), the volume was not mounted. When I launched Disk Utility, the three component drives showed up (not mounted), but the RAID set is no longer there. All three drives are external, FireWire. Since this is my Time Machine backup (I have other backups!), I'm hesitant to reformat and recreate. Have you seen this? any idea why or what to do? Any advice, help, direction is much appreciated!
