i don't think anyone but Rudolf uses the term "spatial window mode", but it is clearly derived from the "spatial Finder" concept which i first saw in those words in this memorable article by John Siracusa:

"Finder mode" or "window mode" seems to me just being a pure semantic question, mainly if someone is of non english mothertongue. Nevertheless, I think, the term "spatial" is the important thing and used in all websites I had consulted on the matter....
