Right, you may need to erase or repartition the drive. I forget what the option is called, but Disk Utility will tell you it's the one you need to be bootable on an Intel machine. This is actually the only way I've installed the OS for quite a while. It's faster than booting from a DVD and saves wear and tear on my optical drive.
