I'm presuming you want an iPhone . . .

The real answer is that all wireless phone companies suck . . .but a different
one sucks depending on where you live. For instance . . .AT&T gets really bad
press in the San Francisco and New York areas. However, part of that is due to
(a) the demand the iPhone generated, (b) the 3 year approval process for a new
cell tower in SF and (c) the sheer people density in NY. In other places
Verizon sucks.

Here in the metro DC area . . .my wife and I have had absolutely zero issues
with either our iPhone 3G's or iPhone 4's, no dropped calls, plenty of signal.
. .and I've got friends with Sprint and Verizon that complain.

AT&T has the limited data plan now and (at least for the short term) Verizon
has unlimited (although my wife and I are grandfathered into the unlimited plan
with AT&T). However .unless you're downloading a lot of movies . . .it's
really hard to go over the limit.

Some people have an almost religious devotion to or hatred of AT&T or Verizon .
. .we don't.

Verizon's network doesn't do both voice and data simultaneously . . .AT&T's
does. Verizon will have some 4G by the late summer but only in very limited
markets. AT&T doesn't have 4G yet . . .but they have their upgraded system with
more bandwidth which will be rolling out in summer as well. Verizon's iPhone
doesn't do 4G anyway . . .I don't know whether the AT&T model does the upgraded
GSM or not but probably iPhone 5 will do if 4 doesn't.

I think we'll stay with AT&T as long as we live here in northern Virginia . .
.but if I was buying my first iPhone today I would have to look at the prices
Verizon has and see . . .but given our overall luck with AT&T I don't see any
real reason to go elsewhere.

Short answer is . . .I don't think there really is a right answer to this
question . . .it depends on where you live and what features (slightly more
speed vs data while on a call vs whatever) are important to you.

There are only three kinds of stress; your basic nuclear stress, cooking
stress, and A$$hole stress. The key to their relationship is Jello.
