I want to replace "Spaces" on 10.5.8 as my virtual screen/desktop manager.

Back in the 10.4 days, there were several virtual desktop managers.
None that I saw was perfect; as far as I could tell, the fundamental
problem was appkit assumptions about all windows being on screen.

I've got several issues with Spaces now:
1. Window dragging across desktops: I cannot turn this off. I can not
require that this only happens with a keystroke plus drag. It gets
triggered by accident far too often.
2. Window moving across desktop by menu: Other VDM's let me
right-click on a title bar to move a window to a different desktop.
3. Labeling desktops.
4. Hot Corners: While dragging windows has a several second delay, the
hot corners of the display have a zero-second delay -- so this really
gets triggered accidentally.
5. No way to bring all windows of an app to the current screen.
"Window -> Bring all to front" only brings the current screen's
windows to the front, and does not bring the windows on other screens
to the front of those screens.
6. Spaces seems to have an assumption of "All windows of one app are
for one purpose; offer to force all the windows to a single screen,
but no way to remember the layout of specific windows to different
screens". If an app can restore windows that were open last time, I
want to restore to the same screens that were used last time, rather
than everything on the one current screen.

So, two questions:
1. Has anyone replaced Spaces on 10.5.8? What issues do you run into?
2. Does anyone know of a 10.5.8 compatible virtual screen manager that
solves any of those issues?
