I second the motion. I've been using Security Spy for many, many years. I now have it running flawlessly on Lion. The UI is a bit dated, but it works. I set up a password-protected Internet connection using dynDNS so I can watch the video cameras live from my office, too. You can use just about any video camera ever invented. Currently I have several attached: 3 via Ethernet cable (2 Axis webcams and an Axis converter that makes an old DV camera with a coax cable into an Ethernet camera), and an original external Firewire iSight camera that was handed out to all attendees at WWDC many years ago and which has been dropped on the floor a zillion times but still works. Sometimes I replace the iSight camera with an old Orange Micro iBot Firewire camera (I know, I'm showing my age). -- Bill Cheeseman - [email protected]
