If I stop the video from playing, the later sound track and the

I distinctly recall having that same (cacophonous) experience with
YouTube video. I only vaguely recall the fix. Look in Safari prefs.
You may have some (legacy) Flash-blocking plugin or extension that
needs to be removed.
