Lucky you. Mine is at 1.14GB real. NO IDEA what it thinks it needs it for. I've got 8GB physical RAM on my machine (10.6.8), and yet when I look at my swapspace, it's nowhere near enough: $ ls -l /var/vm total 18874368 -rw------- 1 root wheel 67108864 Mar 2 00:05 swapfile0 -rw------- 1 root wheel 67108864 Mar 5 10:42 swapfile1 -rw------- 1 root wheel 1073741824 Mar 5 10:42 swapfile10 -rw------- 1 root wheel 1073741824 Mar 5 10:42 swapfile11 -rw------- 1 root wheel 1073741824 Mar 5 10:42 swapfile12 -rw------- 1 root wheel 1073741824 Mar 5 10:42 swapfile13 -rw------- 1 root wheel 1073741824 Mar 6 11:43 swapfile14 -rw------- 1 root wheel 1073741824 Mar 6 11:43 swapfile15 -rw------- 1 root wheel 134217728 Mar 5 10:42 swapfile2 -rw------- 1 root wheel 268435456 Mar 5 10:42 swapfile3 -rw------- 1 root wheel 536870912 Mar 6 11:20 swapfile4 -rw------- 1 root wheel 1073741824 Mar 6 11:20 swapfile5 -rw------- 1 root wheel 1073741824 Mar 6 11:20 swapfile6 -rw------- 1 root wheel 1073741824 Mar 6 11:20 swapfile7 -rw------- 1 root wheel 1073741824 Mar 5 10:42 swapfile8 -rw------- 1 root wheel 1073741824 Mar 5 10:42 swapfile9 _______________________________________________ MacOSX-talk mailing list [email protected] http://www.omnigroup.com/mailman/listinfo/macosx-talk
