A client has an older MBA whose drive has just died. SMART had said that it was
failing, and I advised them that they needed a new drive. They kept using the
MBA. The drive is now toast (surprise! backup, what's a backup?), and they need
a new one.

I'm looking at standard 5400 rpm 2.5" drives from WD and Hitachi to replace it.
Are there any problems with just getting a standard 1.5 or 3.0 SATA drive and
slapping it into the MBA or does it really need an expensive Samsung 4200 rpm
drive? How about just getting a standard SSD and putting that in there
instead?_______________________________________________
