Well yes, Services has been in OS X since forever. And the interface to its configuration has been awful the whole time. But Apple doesn't ship OS X with any Yahoo searching; that you have such an option means its being provided by some other means, most likely by an application present on your system. I'd suggest downloading Services Manager <http://macosxautomation.com/services/servicesmanager> and finding the Yahoo search service in the list. You can then Command+Click and select "Reveal in Finder" which will show you what application is at issue; perhaps the developer has an update.
