I got a new Mac mini this week (the i7 quad core). Set it up and installed the 10.8.2 update and various other updates.
I have an AppleTV in the same room, and I tried to use airplay to send video to the AppleTV, but I only got audio. The video continued to play in the Mac mini. I tried this with QuickTime Player, Safari playing a YouTube video, and VLC playing a 1080p video. All behaved the same way. I've looked for this problem, but what I seem to be finding is the exact opposite, video and no sound. I can throw video from the my iPad to the AppleTV without an issue.
