No.

Yes.

Find the files you want on the old iMac and get them onto the newer iMac in 
preparation for the migration,. If you ordered a 27" model you have until Xmas 
or New Years to get it done.

Alternately, create a new user (Jeff Alt) on the wife's iMac and migrate your 
old account now, then migrate both this accounts to your new machine. Select 
the alt account in the finder and under permissions add your main account with 
rw access and apply to enclosed folders.

It would be a pretty good bet that the gods of a world like this
probably do not play chess and indeed this is the case. In fact no gods
