Notes has been driving me mad, but it seems to be the only solution around that
does what I want.

I've been trying to put together all my projects in the form of Notes pages,
with visual hints added with the text substitution function adding "emojis" to
my text (for ex, when I type "done-" I get "✔️" automatically. Same when I need
to send a mail, I type "mail-" to get a "✉️" etc.
Also, I drag mails or URLS to Notes so that I can click on them and get back to
the original text etc...

So, what I like in Notes is:
• the layout (list on the left, contents on the right, *relatively* easy
navigation from one to the other)
• the ability to use text replacement
• the ability to drag mails/urls etc and have them interpreted as links
• the fact that it is sync'ed to other icloud devices

But, Notes is otherwise an ugly piece of software because:
❌ Notes does not paste TABS when they are at the beginning of a line
❌ It is not possible to directly go from the Editing pane to the Notes List
❌ No possibility to copy/paste images into Notes
❌ No tables support
❌ No possibility to resize columns in full screen view
❌ No search-replace by style (have to go through LibreOffice)
❌ Pasting in Notes is a mess, it breaks the style, the indentation, everything,
it won't accept TABS at the beginning of a line...

The conclusion is that I'm investigating another solution that offers more
flexible editing functions...

I tried Notational Velocity, which is excellent, but does not really support
RTF (no colors)
I tried Voodoopad Lite, it looks nice but navigation between notes is really
not optimal
I tried emacs in Terminal (org mode) but text substitution does not work and
mail/url dragging neither
I tried Aquamacs (same org mode) but I got the same result...

Any idea ?
