Simply cleared (format) and installed 10.9 in V9. Migration assistant V7 > V9 made V9 ready to boot into and run. Each of these has its own /Users, /Applications etc. Data is for T'Bird and Firefox profiles, downloads, DMGs, video, etc, as well as a copy of the downloaded 'Install OS X Mavericks.app' and combo updates.
