Gmail and OS X Mail have never gotten along well together. Common situations
arise where they interfere with each other to produce loops that eat CPU and
multiply mail messages. Google "os x gmail deleted mail reappears" for one
example: tons of content. Another is attempting to send an enclosure larger
than someone in the mail chain will accept -- in some circumstances, this
results in unending creation of new messages at both ends until the offending
item is manually removed from the queue. Perhaps your log is documenting one
of these awful loops.
