Right, but it’s just an RSS feed. > Plus, Overcast does the podcast checking on the server, so you're going to > need to make the feed visible to the public Internet. I’m pretty sure I saw a user name/password option in there when I added a podcast manually. If not, I can use Downcast or Pockecasts or one of the other podcast apps I have. The results will not be quite as good, but they will still work for my purposes. > This seems like a lot of work to just get a list of files onto your > device. Why not just drag the files into a playlist that is set to > sync through iTunes? Or even just drag them directly to your device? Because I want to play them as podcasts with the podcast controls and not via iTunes. Also, I want to be able to pick a few while I’m on the road, download them when I have Wifi, and then be able to listen to them as I go. Loading up several hundred onto my phone or iPad is specifically *not* what I want to do. > You could even put them in a folder in DropBox and use an app like > BoxyTunes to play them. I don’t know about BoxyTunes, but these are not music files. They are podcast or podcast-like or maybe audiobook-like. Voice recordings. I guess, pared down to the essential question, what I need is: How do I create an rss feed with authentication on my Mac that will update as I add files to a directory? -- You and me Sunday driving Not arriving _______________________________________________ MacOSX-talk mailing list [email protected] http://www.omnigroup.com/mailman/listinfo/macosx-talk
