That is not the case.

If you type in anything like the following, it goes to your search engine 
(which does not have to be Google).

yahoo
largest city in Bolivia
randomsite.com

These will not be sent to your search provider:

apopularsite.com
siteyouvevisitedbefore.com
randomsite.com/
