Well, right, obviously it’s not idle. The whole point of the screensaver is to draw pretty pictures on the screen to prevent burn-in. Burn-in isn’t a problem anymore, but people got used to screensaver and want more and more flying toasters, metaphorically. If you want the screen to be idle, but the screen to sleep. The EASIEST way is to simply hit control-shift-eject.
