I don’t have FLASH installed on my iMac Retina. I do have the ClickToFlash plugin installed, but many times, the site still says it requires FLASH to view the video. Or, the video container shows up as a big, white, blank space.
It always pissed me off that a site would require FLASH on my iMac but work fine without FLASH on my iPad. It occurred to me to change the user agent in Safari on Yosemite to iPad. Lo and behold, videos previously not available to me on Yosemite for lacking FLASH appeared just fine. And, ClickToFlash allows you to download the video etc. To change the user-agent in Safari, go to Safari - Preferences - Advanced and at the bottom of the panel, enable “Show develop menu in the menu bar”. There, you will see the option to set the user-agent. I don’t know yet of the downside to keeping it this way, but... -Kevin _______________________________________________ MacOSX-talk mailing list [email protected] http://www.omnigroup.com/mailman/listinfo/macosx-talk
