I would recommend that you do a new install of OS X and very carefully move your documents and data to the new install. Reinstall apps you need (do not restore them). Be very careful of any plugins or utilities you install. Make sure you get apps directly from he vendor. Do not download anything from CNET or Download.com. It’s possible there’s a hardware issue, but this sounds like some borked software, or malicious software. -- Nothing like grilling a kosher dog over human hair to bring out the subtle flavors.
