Or, another option — buy Mac OS Server ($30?) before Apple discontinues it, install it on one of your Macs with spare disk space, and turn on File Caching. From then on, the first device on your LAN to download an OS update or app downloads it, but a copy of it simultaneously gets cached in the Mac. All the rest download it from the cache in the Mac. Of course, the Mac has to be active on the LAN at all times update activity is happening for this to work.
