I used to be able to build IceCat 52.3 (the GNU version of Firefox) on High Sierra and I made a blog post about the instructions:
https://mac4translators.blogspot.com/2017/10/icecat-on-high-sierra.html I was trying to build 60.7 last night and ended uo with weird error messages during the configuration process. So I decided to try to build 52.3 again on Catalina and ended up with exactly the same errors: > configure:2292: checking for c++ > configure:2324: checking whether the C++ compiler (/usr/bin/clang++ > -std=gnu++14 -L/usr/local/opt/readline/lib:) works > configure:2340: /usr/bin/clang++ -std=gnu++14 -o conftest > -I/usr/local/opt/readline/include: -L/usr/local/opt/readline/lib: conftest.C > 1>&5 > clang: warning: include path for libstdc++ headers not found; pass > '-stdlib=libc++' on the command line to use the libc++ standard library > instead [-Wstdlibcxx-not-found] > clang: warning: libstdc++ is deprecated; move to libc++ with a minimum > deployment target of OS X 10.9 [-Wdeprecated] > ld: warning: directory not found for option '-L/usr/local/opt/readline/lib:' > ld: library not found for -lstdc++ > clang: error: linker command failed with exit code 1 (use -v to see > invocation) > configure: failed program was: > > #line 2335 "configure" > #include "confdefs.h" > > int main(){return(0);} > configure: error: installation or configuration problem: C++ compiler cannot > create executables. Is there a reason why clang would work in High Sierra but not in Catalina ? Am I missing anything ?
