There is a man page, under section 8.

To join the OT bitch parade, I wish there was better documentation of the command-line system profiler. I forgot how to call it, and haven't been able to find it easily. A fairly useful program that was reintroduced but is strangely unadvertised, undocumented, and (for me) un-found.

You have two choices here ... /usr/sbin/AppleSystemProfiler, which is actually an AppleScript that starts up /Applications/Utilities/Apple System Profiler and dumps a report from it, or /usr/sbin/system_profiler.

No man page for either, though.
