Unfortunately, the problem is not wether Unicode is good or bad, but the direction
Perl (and MacOS) is moving to. Therefore, our future seems to be Unicode.
Personally, I would  prefer character encodings which comply to the TAD (TRON 
Application Databus) Protocoll, but unfortunately  this doesn't seem to be the future
of  Perl or MacOS. 
Still dreaming of Perl port to the B-TRON OS...
