Dear MacPerl Users,

with the permission of Arved Sandstrom, the author of the original MacPerl XS tutorial
[1], I've updated that document. The tutorial now adheres (more or less) to the new
Perl 5.6 HTML document style and offers slightly better navigation (I hope). I've also
added and modified some parts, to clarify things.

With the release of MacPerl 5.6.x, more and more people will like to build extension
modules themselves, I guess. Everyone interested in this procedure should definitely
read the tutorial.

Please note, that this tutorial was written with MacPerl 5.004 in mind. However, the
informations provided are still valid for MacPerl 5.6.x. Actually, the "special" way
described for the Apple MPW compilers and linkers is no longer needed (but still
works, if you like). Users of the MrC/SC compilers and PPCLink/ILink linkers can now
follow the procedure as described in the "Building with Codewarrior MPW" chapter. This
is a great improvement and simplifies things.

The new version (v1.1) of the tutorial can be found on my website at

    http://usemacperl.webjump.com/index.html

or direct

    http://usemacperl.webjump.com/downloads/MP_XS_TUT_v1.1.tar.gz (26 KB)

Please note that I only provide the tutorial, not the tools and samples that come with
the original MacPerl XS tutorial [1], thus you should download it too.

Any comments for further improvement of the tutorial are welcome.

Best regards,

--Thomas
