Vittorio Barabino and I just released MacScripter's Magazine no. 4, part of
which is dedicated to Regular expressions ("grep").
The fourth issue comes with a big bonus: the Muncher. It is an interface for
AppleScript. Just drag a text onto his helplet and the text is processed
automatically. The (fully functional) demo of the Muncher in the magazine
will
- remove HTML tags from an HTML document and count the number of hyperlinks,
and
- extract e-mail and Web addresses from a text.
With a helplet on your desktop, you can be much more productive!
Although I was able to make a separate version for BBEdit users (no 32 kB
limit), I had some problems getting MacPerl and AS to work together although
I made some progress. If someone is interested in starting where I ran into
trouble, I'm happy to send the file.
