[MacPerl] OSX support for Perl

Please forgive me is this question has been asked a dozen times before.

Soon I will begin testing desktop publishing apps with OS X. Can anyone 
tell to what extent Perl (MacPerl or otherwise) will be supported under OS X?

If you can point me to any documentation, I'd appreciate it.
