You can check out http://macperl.sourceforge.net/ (including my "diary" on
SourceForge) and watch the macperl-porters list to keep abreast of what's
going on.

The short answer is that progress is being made, there is no target date
for a release, and I am hoping to get an alpha (read: not fully working)
release out within a week or so, depending on various factors.

To get a better idea of how close we are to a real release, you have to see
all the data above and make a guess for yourself.
