[MacPerl] Binhexing a folder

I need to binhex a folder but I'm having trouble using Mac::Converter (yes, 
I have Convert::BinHex installed) and I'm not sure the best way to create 
the .sit file first since I don't want to just rename the folder to 
*.sit.  Does anyone have any suggestions?
