ok, I'll drop him a line. I tried hunting through things, but wasn't 
able to track this one down completely, as I don't quite understand some 
of the flow of things, as of yet. (and isn't that the whole point of 
transparent drivers? :)

dunno either, but I'll take a look. IIRC it's still in alpha, but also 
IIRC it's pure perl. will check it out.
