This most likely is indeed a bug; however, if this happens in the future,
note that you can re-open the MacPerl window from the "Window" menu, then
hit ctrl-D there, and you'll be OK.  So all hope is not lost if you close
the window prematurely.  :-)

Hopefully we can fix the problem (of cmd-. not stopping the script) regardless.
