Ha! Yes, I put some print statements in the perl and saw that it was passing the string. At least I figured out one thing by myself! So now I am only using the AppleScript to call the first perl script, then run a script in FileMaker, run a script in Photoshop, and run the second perl script (that uses a value that was set in the first script).
