Mac::Sound is ported to Mac OS X, in the Mac::Carbon distribution. I don't know how to play AIFFs, but the Sound Manager docs on Apple's site are the place to start, along with the source code for the module. Note that some functions in Mac::Sound are not supported in Carbon, and therefore not supported on Mac OS X.
