I'm new to MacPerl and have several questions.
First of all here are my needs, as FileMaker developer we provide ASP
services to our clients. We have 4 xServes with a distributed FileMaker
solution on the back-end. We have Citrix on the front end
(unfortunately Apple has no application server). FileMaker Server on
OSX Server has a known bug which has the potential to corrupt files
when you shut down. The solution is to shut down each open file, we
have 100 + individual with MacPerl at the system level. FileMaker
Server also has an addition bug where it saves a backup but sometimes
it doesn't.
My interest in MacPerl is to resolve these issues.
I have down loaded Perl 5.8.0 from apples site and installed it.
However I can find no application to run and begin learning? Does Perl
5.8.0 run on OSX 10.2.6? where is the application?
I have "MacPerl" by Vicki Brown and Chris Nandor but it only covers OS
9. I also have several other book on the subject and I'm ramping up on
the syntax.
Can you shed any light on these subjects? And or point me in the right
direction?
Thank You in advance:
