Good day to everyone! Well, the quoted message below pretty much says it all, I created a 1.4 branch for our next release so we can start testing rc's. The way I see it, there's only a handful of documentation updates left to include, which we can commit to both trunk and the branch, so I'd say 1.4 is pretty close now. Thanks to all those who've worked on base as of late, producing a good number of bug fixes and improvements comprising this release!

To all those wishing to hack on base, please consider trunk now open to your hearts content (though it was never officially closed ;-). Feel free to play with it but always in a civil manner, moving to a branch of your liking any commit that might break things too badly for everyone else. Other than that, hack away!
