I think that this proposed naming scheme provides the most clarity.
I like the idea, but I would suggest:
MacPorts-1.6.0-10.3-Panther.dmg
MacPorts-1.6.0-10.4-Tiger.dmg
MacPorts-1.6.0-10.5-Leopard.dmg
Though visually less clear, this would allow easier sorting, and match
how Apple talks about the releases.
