Dear list, I sent this on Wednesday last week but I have no evidence it ever reached macports-devel.
I have not yet had any response from the maintainer of the port. What should one do in this circumstance? For info, the dynamic libraries are a part of the Moscow ML distribution. I presume it was just because of technical difficulties that they were not enabled in the original mosml port. The technical difficulties have all been overcome! It requires a small change to the current mosml port. Attached is a diff of the Portfile change and a new patch (which is needed by both ports), as well as a Portfile for the new mosml-dynlibs port. Since the mosml-dynlibs port requires the patched mosml port I guess the mosml-dynlibs port should be made to depend on the newer mosml so people with the older mosml will be forced to upgrade to the newer before adding mosml-dynlibs. But I don't know how to specify the port version in a dependency. Is this possible? Could you let me know whether you would be happy to commit these changes (if not tell me what I need to change) and also whether you would be able to be the maintainer of the dynamic libraries port as well? (I am not a registered MacPorts developer and have no svn access.) Best wishes Ian Grant
