Well that's odd...
1) Why don't you have fontconfig installed (should be pulled in by
xorg-server)?
2) Do you have xorg-fonts installed?
Run the following and provide output:
sudo font_cache -f -v -s
ls /opt/local/share/fonts/misc

The first error (X11.app: Debug Info: kKLuchrData failed, trying
kKLKCHRData.) can be fixed by using a US keyboard layout (I use a
German one). But I have no idea how to fix the others.
