You are relatively new to the MacPorts community, did you ever look at the base code?I am not against you taking part as a mentor, I am just concerned if you know enough about MacPorts' base to help a student for a project. But wecan try to sort that out later, it is also possible to do co-mentoring in my opinion. You could also be helpful in the evaluation process of students' applications. Thanks for your offer!
I've looked at some of the patches going into 1.7.1 and already applied them directly to my bin/port. As for actually delving into the code, not so much yet.
I'm just looking to help out since there weren't many mentors on the list yet: Co-mentoring and/or evaluating sounds like it would be a good way to go.
