Which ui_msgs? As explained, ui_msg can appear anywhere in a
portfile, inside if clauses, inside phases, inside variants, etc.
I would rather ports be modified to start using the notes feature.
I understand but there is a lot of valuable information in the
existing ui_msg.
I was thinking parse the file as a normal "port upgrade" but don't
actually execute anything other then step into variant blocks so you
pick up the ui_msg for the variants in use.
