You sort of answered what I meant.  It was just a first name, so I had no idea 
how to contact that person.  Most ports that have not seen action in a while, 
not that this was the case, I did not look at the history, have an email 
address where I can contact.

I had no idea where to go to contact the maintainer, because it was just a 
first name.  Or is it that when you run `port info` on it, it will expand the 
name out to the email address?

What does it mean when it had a name and the openmaintain...@]macports.org 
address simultaneously?

They did for me after a selfupdate and getting the new versions, so perhaps it 
was the version that did not want to build on 10.6.
